Has there been a good SF TV series that _didn't_ have ESP, souls, or any kind of spirituality or parapsychology-related stuff in it?

I'm sure there have been, but my brain is blanking right now...

He did specify good.

(I bought the DVD boxed set. I watched the series. I sold the DVD boxed set. Only one I've sold to date)

Firefly? (I don't *think* it had parapsychology-stuff in it, unless you count River)

River can read people's minds with no tech, which I'm going to count as ESP.

Fair enough - I think that it's a bit of a corner case, but I'm not willing to go to the wall over it.

I thought we were supposed to be suggesting *good* SF TV shows.

The Tripods (unless you count the caps)

The caps were tech - so I'm absolutely fine with them.

I hope they remake this at some point, I really liked the TV version and would love them to have finished it.

Invasion Earth (I'm suggesting this on behalf of my husband, who insists it was good).

And actually Red Dwarf stayed pretty clear of that stuff as I recall (I'm sure they dabbled in it at some point, but it certainly wasn't dripping with it like Star Trek, Blake's 7 or Bab 5).

I consider Dark Angel to be good, and didn't have any of that that I can think of (there were religious characters, but not central ones).

Possibly Life on Mars? It's never really clear what exactly is going on, so I don't think it counts as parapsychology really. Then, does it count as SF?

I'd say close enough.

Not seen Dark Angel.

And I don't mind religious characters - so long as they're not provably right :->

Dark Angel is near future post-collapse SF by Cameron. EMP burst takes out the US financial system, everything goes to pot, USgov's genetic super soldier experiments escape.

Plus points include a decent setting, reasonable acting and Jessica Alba in skintight clothing. Bad points include much contrivance, early cancellation and some downright silly episodes.

I like it, a lot, Jennie wasn't impressed but didn't watch much. I got it in a Woolworths sale ages back, 2for1 boxed sets, definitely worth a look.

Oh, same casting directors as Battlestar Galactica--seeing Grace Park and the Chief in bit parts is amusing, lots of the cast went on to bigger things.

Does 'Lexx' count? It had weird insects, cannibalism, genetic manipulation, lifeforce sucking - but no real ESP or spirituality in it.
